Setup Instructions

Manual Install

The following instructions will allow you to manually add Alfs Airfields to your chosen Flight Simulator.

1.Download the entire scenery collection:

2.Extract the zip file to a folder of your choice.

Two folders will be extracted:

a) Alfs Airfields – this is the complete collection of airfields

b) Static Objects Library – this is a collection of files that provide various files used throughout the scenery collection

3.Move the Static Objects Library folder to your Scenery Addon folder. If you already have a Static Objects Library, then overwrite the existing files.

4. Move the Alfs Airfields folder to a location of your choice; we recommend the root of the main C: drive.

5. You now need to manually add the airfields to the Flight Simulator Scenery Library. This is accomplished by editing the relevant scenery.cfg file:

Default locations of scenery.cfg file:

Simulator scenery.cfg location
FSX (orig. CD version) C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX
 FSX Steam Edition  C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX
 P3D v2  C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2
 P3D v3  C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3

For compatibility we recommend installing ALL airfields and then disabling the airfields that duplicate existing addon airports/airfields.

We have preconfigured scenery.cfg extracts for you to download and paste into your scenery.cfg:

download-all-airfields-scenery_cfg For those who wish to install ALL airfields and have no currently installed airfields that will create duplicates
download-UK2000-scenery_cfg  For those that already have UK2000 Scenery Volume 1, 2 and 3 installed(either version 1 or version 2)
download-Orbx-scenery_cfg  For those that already have Orbx airfields installed

Your last scenery entry in scenery.cfg is likely to look something like the following:

[Area.117]

Title=Berlin

Local=Scenery\Cities\Berlin

Layer=117

Active=True

Required=True

Ensure that the numbers of scenery layers run consecutively; for example the next scenery area to be added should look like this:

[Area.118]

Title=<title>

Local=<scenery path>

Layer=118

Active=True

Required=False
